The era of special trains is over
According to the Ministry of Railways, the trains which were being run as Kovid Special, Express Special or Holiday Special in view of Coronavirus. Their service will now be like regular trains. That is, all these trains will run on the tracks with their old regular number and timing. With this, the train fare before Corona will be applicable again. After this order of the Ministry, about 1700 Superfast (Mail Express) and Express trains, which have been closed for the last one and a half, will be operational again. However, people traveling in these trains will have to follow the corona protocol like masks, social distancing.
Fare difference will not be charged
The Ministry of Railways clarified that those who had booked their tickets in advance. No extra fare will be charged from them and no money will be refunded. That is, neither the difference of fare will be taken from those who have booked tickets in advance nor will they be given any refund. Such passengers will be able to travel in the train only on the basis of their previous ticket.
Train service was stopped in March last year
Let us inform that after the start of Corona epidemic last year, Indian Railways had stopped passenger train service across the country from March 25, 2020. Later, Shramik Special trains were started to take the affected people to their homes. These trains were run in different parts of the country with new numbers, new timings and new fares. However, due to the low frequency of trains, people were facing a lot of problems. After which the government took stock of the situation and announced the restoration of normal train service.
