What is the process of using Wi-Fi
The official said that the response of passengers at major stations of NCR including Prayagraj, Kanpur, Agra Cantt, Mathura, Jhansi, Gwalior etc. has indicated excellent connectivity, seamless data access and great convenience for the commuters. RailWire Wi-Fi facility is quite user friendly. To activate the Wi-Fi connection on their mobile, passengers will have to scan the Wi-Fi options and select RailWire. When RailWire goes to the browser, it will ask for a mobile number, to which a One Time Password (OTP) will be sent. Once connected, the Wi-Fi connection will last for 30 minutes. This helps rail passengers to stay connected and updated with railway information.
How much free and how much charge
Dr Sharma said that Wi-Fi is free for the first 30 minutes of use every day at a speed of 1 Mbps. To use the Wi-Fi facility at a faster speed, users will have to choose a higher speed plan by paying a nominal fee. The plans range from Rs 10/day (for 5 GB @ 34 Mbps) to Rs 75/30 (for 60 GB @ 34 Mbps) excluding GST. Multiple payment options like net banking, wallet, credit card can be used to buy the plan online.
