Railway Board has approved to collect service charge from passengers at railway stations being built on the lines of airports. This charge to be taken by the Railways will be between Rs 10 to 50. However, it is not yet known from when the new service charge will be charged from the passengers.

In fact, the Ministry of Railways has decided to levy Station Development Fee at railway stations developed on the lines of airports. This fee will have to be paid by the passengers as user charge.

User charges will be taken from the passengers at the new railway stations being built on the lines of the airport. This charge will be between 10 to 50 rupees. Let us tell you that the Railways is working on making 400 railway stations across the country equipped with world-class facilities. Most of the railway stations in this are on public-private partnership. The Rani Kamalavati railway stations of Gandhi Nagar and Bhopal have already been completed. PM Modi has also inaugurated them.
Railway Board also approved
The Railway Board has approved the imposition of user charges on the passengers. The charge will also be different for people traveling in different classes and it will be included in the ticket itself. According to an order of the Ministry of Railways, there will be a user charge from Rs 10 to a maximum of Rs 50.
Such fee is charged at the airport
For those traveling on unreserved tickets, this fee will be Rs 10. At the same time, those traveling in sleeper will be charged Rs 25 and those traveling in AC will be charged an additional user charge of Rs 50. Currently, this type of fee is charged only at the airport in the country. However, according to the officials of the Ministry of Railways, when will this service charge be implemented, it has not been decided yet.
Those who buy platform tickets will also have to pay Rs 10 as service charge. Passengers landing at the station developed like an airport will be charged 50 percent of the fixed price.
