The area of Araul is included in Kanpur on the bullet train route between New Delhi to Banaras but now the churn has started for connectivity to the city. The bullet train will cover a distance of 865 km from Delhi to Banaras in four hours.
The blueprint of the bullet train between Delhi and Banaras has been drawn. The bullet train route will be from Kannauj via Araul and Makanpur in Kanpur to Bangarmau in Unnao. In such a situation, due to being an industrial city, the demand to take this route from Kanpur city has been raised frequently. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) will prepare the DPR for this by the end of the month.
At present, Kanpur to Kasganj line connects Bilhaur. Therefore, if one more bullet train station is made here, then the city will also get connectivity. According to the North Central Railway Public Relations Officer, this is a big project, on which the Ministry of Railways is directly monitoring. Therefore, tampering with the predetermined route is not possible. Since there is a demand for connectivity to Kanpur through bullet train, it is being considered.
Therefore, Kanpur is not in the route: NHSRCL official Ashok Bijalwan says that the speed of bullet train is high. This train will cover the distance of 865 km between Delhi and Banaras in four hours. In such a situation, it cannot be given much curve. Keeping it straight is a compulsion. To bring Kanpur city, the route will have to be diverted, which is not good considering the speed of the train.
There are 12 stations in the route proposed: 12 stations are proposed between Delhi and Banaras. Starting from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi, the train will go till Maduadih in Banaras. Meanwhile, there will be Noida, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Kannauj, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, Bhadohi and Varanasi stations along with Delhi.
DPR will be given by 30 September: Officials say that the detailed project report of this work has to be given to the Ministry of Railways by 30 September. Work is going on on this. Along with this, DPRs on other routes of bullet train being built in the country are to be given to the Ministry of Railways by 2023.
