RailTel, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, has installed high-speed free Wi-Fi at more than 6,000 railway stations in the country. RailTel has given this information on its official website. The company said that, ‘With the installation of RailTel Wi-Fi at Ubarni railway station in Rae Bareli district in Uttar Pradesh, free Wi-Fi service has been made available at 100 percent stations (except halt station) of Northern Railway.’
RailTel has provided state of the art public Wi-Fi under the brand name of Railwire.

RailTel Chairman and Managing Director Punit Chawla said that under the Digital India Mission of the Government of India, the Mini Ratna RailTel of the Railways is trying. The company was trying to provide free Internet service at the railway station despite the difficult period of Coronavirus.
North-East travelers will also get benefit
Out of these 6100 railway stations of the Indian Railways network, 5000 stations are in rural areas, where high-speed free Wi-Fi service has been provided. Commuters will benefit from the introduction of free Wi-Fi service, especially at the railway stations of North-East and Kashmir Valley. Indian Railways is providing free public Wi-Fi service in urban and rural areas of the country through RailTel.
RailTel WiFi will charge this much
In RailTel’s Wi-Fi service, the user will get free internet access for the first 30 minutes every day. After this, the user will be charged for using the data. RailTel charges Rs 10 daily for this. In this, the user gets 5GB of data at a speed of 34mbps. At the same time, to get internet service for one month, the user will have to spend Rs 75. In this, the user will get a total of 60GB data at a speed of 34mbps. Users will be able to subscribe to these packs through online payment.

- Users will be able to connect their smartphone or laptop to Wi-Fi at the railway station where RailTel Free Wi-Fi service is available.
- After connecting RailTel or Railwire network, the user’s mobile number is asked.
- After entering the mobile number, an OTP comes on the user’s phone.
- After entering the OTP, the user will be able to connect the device to the Internet.
- The user will get free internet service for the first 30 minutes. After this, the user will have to take a subscription according to the above charge.
