Indian Railways: Earlier, writing only the name of the area in place of the address in the reservation form used to work, but now the complete address and pin code has to be given.
New Delhi: Indian Railways: If you are going to take tickets from the railway reservation counter instead of online, then you have to keep some things in mind, otherwise you may face problems in booking tickets. Indian Railways has made it mandatory for the passengers to enter their destination address and pin code while booking the ticket from the reservation counter, if you do not do so then the ticket will not be issued to you. Meaning you have to keep the address and its pin code ready before going to the ticket window.
Ticket rules from the reservation counter
This rule was made mandatory by the Indian Railways last year, so that contact tracing of people can be done during the epidemic. Due to the last corona epidemic, the movement of trains was stopped from March 2020. However, the government had run special trains to take the migrant laborers to their homes. For this, the Railways had made the complete and PIN code of the passenger mandatory for the reserved tickets. This rule was continued even when the outbreak of Corona was mild. However, later the railways gave relief in the rule of pin code for tickets from the reservation counter.
According to a recent report, a large crowd of people was seen at the reservation counter of Dhanbad railway station, it was found that there were many illiterate people who did not know the pincode of their destination, although the railways removed it from the list of mandatory, Nevertheless, the pin code was being sought from the passengers at Dhanbad railway station.
Because of this the decision was taken
Such a decision was taken by the railways so that if a passenger is corona positive, then he can be identified as soon as possible. However, due to this, it was not mandatory for the passengers to enter the complete address while booking the ticket in the ticket booking format. Earlier, it was approved by the Railways only after filling the name of the area and the name of the district in place of the address.
