Indian Railways/IRCTC Update: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday that a total of 11,806 trains were delayed in 2020-21 due to reasons like fog, chain pulling, agitation and bad weather.


Indian Railways/IRCTC Update: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday that a total of 11,806 trains were delayed in 2020-21 due to reasons like fog, chain pulling, agitation and bad weather. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said that there is no provision for compensation to the passengers for the late running of trains. Vaishnav said, ‘From April 2020 to March 2021, a total of 11,806 trains were delayed due to fog, agitation, bad weather and other reasons.’

At the same time, in response to another question, the Railway Minister said that the Railways is planning to prepare the coaches of premium train Vande Bharat Express at its factories at Kapurthala in Punjab and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. The Railway Minister informed that at present the coaches of Vande Bharat Express are being manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. Let us tell you that Vande Bharat trains were started in the year 2019 and it is the fastest train in India. This train does not have a locomotive engine. This train can run at a speed of 160 kmph.

In a written reply to another question, he said that Railways had recruited 120 differently abled people in 2021-22 which is 69 percent less than the figures of 2020-21 during which a total of 383 disabled people were recruited across the country. According to the minister, Railways had recruited 1,053 Divyangs in 2019-20. In response to a question, he said that no case of violation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 has come to the notice of the Ministry of Railways.
