Indian Railways New Rule: Lakhs and crores of people travel by Indian Railways every day. In such a situation, questions often arise regarding the lower berth in the train. Especially for women, senior citizens and Divyang passengers, there is always a demand for lower berth. Now Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has taken a big decision on this issue. He has fixed the priority of lower berth for certain people, so that now only they will be given priority to give the lower seat in the train.
According to the Railway Minister, preparations are being made to provide the facility of lower berth to women, senior citizens and Divyang passengers on priority basis.
It is not possible for everyone to get a seat
The Railway Minister also said that there are limited lower seats in the train, so it is difficult to give this seat to everyone. But the railways are trying to ensure that every effort will be made to provide these seats to the passengers who need it the most. The first priority of the railways is women, senior citizens and the disabled.
Reserved lower berths in trains
Every coach of the railways train has a fixed number of lower seats. There are 6 to 7 lower seats in sleeper coaches. There are 4 to 5 lower berths in every coach of third AC. Whereas there are 3 to 4 lower seats in every coach of 2 AC. In such a situation, Indian Railways always gives priority to disabled passengers so that they do not face any problem in going to the seat. For them, 2 lower berths are reserved in sleeper coaches. 4 lower berths in third AC and third economy, 4 seats in second seating or chair car are reserved for these people.
At the same time, if the lower berth remains vacant during the journey, then as a priority it is given to senior citizens, disabled and pregnant women, who are on the middle or upper berth.
