According to the new rules of Railways, if you reach your seat in the train late by 10 minutes then it may be difficult for you. Now TTE will wait only for 10 minutes to mark your seat as occupied.
This is because many times people used to reach their seats even after one or two stations. In such a situation, TTE could not know which seat was vacant. That is why now TTE will give only 10 minutes time to the passenger.
Let us tell you, now the checking staff checks tickets through hand held terminals. Due to which information has to be given about the arrival or not of the passenger. Earlier this formality was done on paper. But, now being online, the seat will be un-reserved if the passenger is not present.
Now after the arrival of new railway rules, the passenger will have to board the train at the same station from where he has to travel. You will also have to register your attendance.
At the same time, if someone is not found on the seat even after 10 minutes of the boarding station, then TTE will mark him absent. In such a situation, you will have to pay attention to reach your seat on time.
