Shiv Soni, Bilaspur. During the journey, passengers will now be able to taste golgappa (pani puri) and chaat apart from pulses, rice, vegetables and roti. IRCTC Regional Office claims that this scheme of feeding chaat and golgappas in railway catering is being started from Bilaspur station in Chhattisgarh all over the country.
On getting better results, this facility will be started by inviting proposals in other stations also. Under the e-catering facility, a restaurant in the city, Tifinax, has been allowed this. The price fixed by the operator has also been approved, under which 40 pieces of Pani Puri will be available for Rs 150 and Kulhad Chaat for Rs 120 from the first week of September.
IRCTC is responsible for providing catering facilities to the passengers during the journey. This facility is made available through e-catering with Pantrycar. During the Corona period, when cooking in pantry cars was banned, passengers started showing interest in e-catering.
Meanwhile, a restaurant in the city, Tiffinax, has offered to provide golgappas and kulhad chaat along with food to bring innovation. The regional office at Bilaspur liked this proposal of the restaurant better. Permission was given after checking the quality of the food and getting the seal from the Secunderabad headquarters. The IRCTC website has been authorized to serve these things along with food in the e-catering facility.
Can pay in train with online
There is also a relief for the passengers that if they want, they can pay for Golgappa or Chaat online or even by cash on delivery. If the goods are of poor quality or not liked, then the payment made to them will be refunded immediately after complaining.

Booking has to be done like this
Passengers will have to download the Food on Track app on their mobiles. In this, you have to choose the station by going to the option of entering the PNR number. After clicking on the station, a list of available hotels and restaurants will come. The menu will appear once you select the respective restaurant. OTP will come immediately after selecting it. This has to be shown to the vendor who delivered the goods.
