New Delhi. There is good news for the passengers traveling in Indian Railways. Now soon fresh food will be available during the journey in trains. Actually, the Railway Board has ordered the introduction of pantry car in the train. The board has said that Indian Railways company IRCTC can start cooking service in the train. Apart from this, it has also been said to continue the existing facility of ready to eat meal.



In a letter written by the Railway Board to the CMD of IRCTC, it has been said that the normal train service has started in the country. The board has said that restaurants, hotels and such establishments have opened across the country. Keeping in view the need of railway passengers, now cooking facility can be started in the train.

Let us tell you that since the Corona virus crisis in the country, the pantry cars of the railways have been deserted for the last 18 months and its catering service is closed. At present, only tea, coffee, snakes etc. are available in the train of Indian Railways.


Catering service provides employment to lakhs

Significantly, due to the closure of the catering service, the employment of lakhs of people has also been affected. According to an estimate, about 5 lakh people are directly and indirectly connected with it. Resumption of the catering service will bring great relief to the people and families associated with it.
