IRCTC: ‘Ready to eat’ food is being given to the passengers in special trains running across the country, all the passengers traveling in long distance trains are not liking this food, their demand is that ‘cooked’ food as before. Food should be given.

New Delhi. Many passengers are not liking ‘ready to eat’ food in trains, they are demanding ‘cooked food’. In this regard, passengers have suggested to the Railways to start ‘cooked food’ in trains again, so that passengers do not face any problem of eating during the journey. In this regard, IRCTC says that the food in the station trains is served according to the guide line of the Railway Board, food is being given as per the guide lines.

At present, more than 1600 trains are being operated across the country including Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Express, Mail. All these trains are being operated by giving the name of special train. This includes short and long distance trains. Providing food in all these station trains is the responsibility of Indian Railway’s PSU Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. Due to Corona, according to the guide line of the Railway Board, ready-to-eat food is being served in all trains, that is, chips, crunchy, biscuit, packed food is being given.

This is getting trouble

Those traveling by short distance trains are not facing much problem by eating ready-to-eat, but traveling in long distance trains i.e. 24 to 30 hours or more are facing problems. The reason is that passengers are not eating ready-to-eat food again and again for such a long distance and it is not possible to travel such a long distance by taking home cooked food. That’s why they are having trouble.

Demand from irctc

All passengers traveling in long distance trains have suggested IRCTC to serve cooked food instead of ready-to-eat food, so that passengers do not face any problem in eating during the journey.

IRCTC Reply

In this regard, IRCTC PRO Anand Kumar Jha says that IRCTC serves food according to the guidelines of the Railway Board. Railway Board has just given instructions to serve ready-to-eat food trains, so this food is being given.
