Indian Railways: Rebate to make reservation three months ago, know and what changes have been made in the rules

New Delhi, Jagran Bureau / Agency.  Indian Railways has increased the period of advance reservation in trains from 30 days to 120 days. This provision of reservation will be applicable in 230 trains. Out of these, 30 trains are running from May 12 while 200 trains will start from June 1. This provision will come into force from 8 am on 31 May 2020. 

Reservation will also start in current and immediate quota

According to the statement issued by the Indian Railways, the reservation of current and immediate categories has also been allowed in the reservation of tickets for trains. All this provision has been made as regular trains of trains. Booking of luggage and parcel in all these 230 trains will be as before.

The waiting list is arranged 

Recently in the press conference, Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the waiting list was given because in the first trains it was seen that some people were canceling tickets at the time of opening of the train. Now due to the provision of waiting list, the berth vacated by the cancellation tickets will be filled with the rest.



Know what will happen to RAC tickets 

He had said that in special trains we have allowed travel only with confirmed tickets. Also the enroute ticket is absolutely forbidden. No passengers are allowed to board the route, so the RAC ticket is likely to be confirmed.

Ticket prices not increased  

Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the ticket price before the lockdown was the same even today. Not a single penny is being charged on a ticket. Some exemptions were banned before the lockdown, the same system is still in force today.

Over 50 lakh migrants have traveled so far 

More than 50 lakh migrant laborers have traveled by 3,736 laborers special trains run by the Railways since May 1. This has been reported in official figures. Of these, 3157 trains have reached their destination. According to official figures, the maximum number of trains ran from Gujarat (979), Maharashtra (695), Punjab (397), Uttar Pradesh (263) and Bihar (263). These Shramik special trains carried migrants to different parts of the country. The maximum number of trains reached Uttar Pradesh (1520), Bihar (1296), Jharkhand (167), Madhya Pradesh (121), Odisha (139).

Provided free food to more than 84 lakh people 

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in a tweet that I am very happy to say that in the Corona epidemic, the railway special labor trains have so far transported over 50 lakh workers to their home state in a convenient and safe manner. He said that with this, the Railways has distributed more than 84 lakh free food and 1.24 crore water bottles so far. As per the data, this includes food prepared by the railway undertaking IRCTC and food distributed by the Divisional Railway. All workers traveling in special trains were provided food and water bottles



Center is spending 85 percent of the cost of running the train itself

Railways has said that IRCTC is providing roti-sabzi-pickle, puri-sabzi-pickle, veg casserole, pav bhaji, biscuits, cake, banana, namkeen, lemon rice pickle, upma, poha etc. Bottles of Rail Neer are being provided with food. Railways themselves bear 85 percent of the cost of operating each train while the rest is borne by the state as fares.
