In such a situation, you have to cancel the train ticket. In this, you also suffer financial loss because the railway charges some fees from you as cancellation charge. However, you do not need to do this. If you think that you can do this journey some time before or some time after the fixed date, then you do not need to cancel the ticket.
Railway’s rule is that you can forward or reverse the date of the same ticket. To do this, you have to surrender your ticket at the reservation counter 48 hours before the train leaves the station. At the same time, you also have to apply for a new date. You can also upgrade the class during this time. After giving the application, the date and class are changed. There is no charge for changing the date. If the class is being changed, then you have to pay the difference between the two fares.
Change in boarding station
You can also change the station from where you want to board the train. For this, you have to apply to the Chief Reservation Supervisor or the Reservation Supervisor on duty before the preparation of the first chart of the train. You can do this at the Passenger Reservation Center during working hours. Apart from this, this work can also be completed through IRCTC website and 139. This facility is available for trains booked both through the Reservation Center and online.
Also change the destination station
If you want to extend your journey further then it can be done from inside the train itself. For this you have to contact the ticket checking staff. You can do this work at the station of the train or even before it where you were supposed to get off earlier. Whatever fare for the increased journey will be recovered by TTE. Similarly, you can also change the class during your journey by contacting TTE.
