Is your train also late
The last month of 2022 is going on, where the cold is increasing very fast. Due to the uproar of cold and fog, people are hiding in their homes. But traveling is a compulsion. Some people travel by train due to their work, while some travel for sightseeing. The movement of trains and their cancellation is affecting such passengers a lot. If your train is running late, you can take its remand in a jiffy.
If the train is late by more than 3 hours
If your train is late for 3 hours or more then you can cancel your ticket. According to railway rules, a full refund is given on cancellation of the train which is late for 3 hours or more. If your train is delayed by more than 3 hours, then you will not have to pay any charge for canceling its ticket. If you have a counter ticket then it is better that you can cancel it by going to the reservation counter. But if you have a ticket bought from IRCTC, then you will have to visit the website and complete the necessary formalities for it.
File Online TDR
If your train is continuously getting late after chart preparation, then you will have to file TDR to cancel the ticket. Please tell that till the chart is not made, you can easily cancel the train ticket by login on IRCTC.
- To file TDR, first of all login to your IRCTC account.
- After login, click on MY ACCOUNT.
- In the option go to My Transaction and select the option of File TDR. You can file TDR by selecting your ticket from here.
- After filing TDR, Railways will verify your claim and your refund amount will be sent to your account within 5 to 7 working days.
