Indian Railways Rules: If you travel by train, then you must be knowing how to book Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets of Railways. IRCTC has fixed a fixed time for booking Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets of the train for passengers. However, in the past few days, there have been some reports on social media that IRCTC has changed the booking time for Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets. After this, IRCTC itself has told the truth of these reports on social media.
Has the time of Tatkal booking changed?
IRCTC said, “Some such posts are coming on social media, in which different timings of Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets have been mentioned. However, at present no change has been made in the booking of Tatkal and Premium Tatkal for AC, Non-AC class nor is there any proposal for it.”
Some posts are circulating on Social Media channels mentioning about different timings for Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets.
No such change in timings is currently proposed in the Tatkal or Premium Tatkal booking timings for AC or Non-AC classes.

What is the correct time for booking Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets?
Tatkal Ticket Booking:
Tatkal booking for all AC classes (1AC, 2AC, 3AC, CC, EC) of the train starts at 10 am 1 day before the journey. Whereas, booking for Sleeper Class (SL) starts at 11 am 1 day before the journey. For example, if your train is on the 15th, then Tatkal booking will be on the 14th.
Premium Tatkal Ticket Booking:
If it is very important for you to travel and you did not get a ticket even in Tatkal, then you can also book a ticket in Premium Tatkal. For this, booking starts at 10 am 1 day before the journey for AC class and at 11 am for Sleeper class. However, it is much more expensive than normal Tatkal, because dynamic fare system is applicable in it.
