For how many hours is the platform ticket valid?
North Eastern Railway asked people a question on Twitter that for how many hours the platform ticket is valid from the time of issue? For this people were given 4 options (4 hours, 6 hours, 2 hours and 3 hours). Most people (53.2 per cent) gave the answer as 2 hours. Later North Eastern Railways told that once the platform ticket is issued, it remains valid for 2 hours.
You can travel with platform ticket
According to a special rule of Indian Railways, if you do not have a reservation ticket and you have to travel by train, then you can travel through platform ticket. That is, you just have to buy Platform Ticket and your work will be done. If you are traveling with a platform ticket, then you will have to immediately go and talk to the ticket checker to get a ticket made for your destination. The platform ticket will be the proof from which station you have started your journey. Accordingly TTE will make ticket for your destination.
Will have to pay this much fee
You will have to pay a fee of Rs 250 for traveling through Platform Tickets. Wherein TTE makes your ticket according to your platform ticket. If you have not made a ticket yourself and you are found without a ticket, the ticket checker can charge you a fee for the platform from where the train started its journey and till the train will go.
