Different limits in each coach

Let us tell you that there is a different limit for carrying luggage in each coach of the train. Indian Railways has made a rule for this.

How much luggage can be carried in second class?

Talking about the second class coaches of the train, passengers can carry luggage up to 35 kg in it. A margin of up to 10 kg is allowed in this. Passengers can carry up to 70 kg of luggage with booking.

Luggage limit in sleeper coach

In sleeper class, you can carry 40 kg luggage along with 10 kg extra luggage. You can carry up to 80 kg luggage by booking.

Luggage limit in third AC

In third AC, you can carry 40 kg luggage along with 10 kg extra luggage. You can carry up to 40 kg luggage by booking.

Luggage limit in second AC

In second AC, you can carry 50 kg luggage along with 10 kg extra luggage. You can carry up to 100 kg luggage by booking.

Luggage limit in first AC

In first AC, you can carry 70 kg weight. Along with this, there will be a relaxation of 15 kg extra weight. 150 kg can be carried in parcel van through booking.

Penalty is levied on extra luggage

Like flight, if you are carrying extra luggage in train then you may have to pay penalty. Railway had also launched a campaign on this.
