Under Section 155 of the Railways Act 1989, a fine of up to Rs 500 is charged for illegally entering a compartment with reservation. In this connection, Indian Railways has appealed to the passengers on its official Twitter account to travel in trains only with valid tickets. Railways has said that unauthorizedly entering a reserved compartment is a punishable offence.
