Railways gives this facility to passengers

To get this facility, passengers have to click on the option of auto upgrade during ticket booking. After that, depending on the availability, the railway upgrades the ticket. However, it is not necessary that the ticket gets upgraded every time.
Similarly, the waiting list gives passengers a chance to travel on the railways based on the seat availability in another train. For this, Railways has started Vikalp service. Passengers who are unable to get a confirmed ticket can opt for getting a seat in another train. For this, ‘option’ has to be selected at the time of ticket booking. After that railway provides this facility.
Option to transfer tickets
Railway also gives the option to transfer tickets. If a person is unable to travel due to any reason, then he can transfer the ticket in the name of any member of his family. However, ticket transfer can be done before 24 hours of the day of travel.
Under this, tickets can be transferred in the name of mother, father, sister, son, daughter, husband and wife only. For this, taking the print of the ticket, you will have to go to the nearest railway station. Where the ticket can be transferred through the ID proof of the ticket holder. However, tickets can be transferred only once.
Like ticket transfer, the facility of changing the boarding station is also available up to 24 hours in advance. That is, if a passenger has booked a ticket from Delhi and wants to board from any other station on that train route, then he can change his station.
Change in boarding station can be done online. After logging into the IRCTC website or app, you can change the boarding station by going to the booked ticket history. However, the facility of change is available only once. And once the station is changed, the rights of the previously booked station ends.
