Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that railways gives more than 55% concession on passenger fare. Railway spends 55 rupees out of 100 rupees, the Railway
Minister told during this time that subsidy is given to all the passengers by the Railways. It is about 55 percent. That is, if Rs 100 is spent on any route from the railway side, then only Rs 45 is charged from the passengers. He also told that last year the Railways has given a total subsidy of Rs 62 thousand crores to different categories of passengers.
Plan to run EMU trains
When the Railway Minister was asked which new trains are going to be run by the Railways, he said that EMU trains are going to be run by Indian Railways, which are under construction. The EMU train does not have an engine, it works exactly like a metro. Power comes in the second and third coaches of these trains and the entire train operates from it. The same system will be there in EMU vehicles as well.
When will 5G come
The Railway Minister told that 5G service is going to be started in the country by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). He told that 5G services will be started from BSNL by October. The target is to start this service in the next 500 days in five major cities of the country. The government has given one lakh 64 thousand crore rupees to strengthen BSNL.
