Indian Railways will now accelerate Mission-160 (Mission 160). Railways plans to run the train between Delhi and Mumbai at a speed of 160 kmph. At present, the train speed is only 130 kmph. Accordingly, in just 12 hours, passengers can reach Mumbai from Delhi. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the Railway Board to meet every week to see the progress to complete the project at the earliest.

Fencing on both sides of railway track
Railway officials say fencing will be installed on the railway track to avoid any accident. The railways want to ensure that there is no accident between the train running at a speed of 160 kmph. The deadline for completion of mission-160 was earlier kept at 2023. But now the Union Railway Ministry has reduced the deadline to 2022. Now this project will be completed on fast track.

It may be noted that Indian Railways wants to train from Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi to Howrah at a speed of 160 kmph first. The central government has allocated Rs 2,200 crore for fencing on both sides of the railway track in these two destinations.
