Indian Railways is the fourth largest railway service in the world, in which lakhs of passengers travel every day. Whether traveling far or near, the train is an easy and convenient way to travel.

You just need to have a valid ticket and you can travel anywhere in the country without any hassle. However, the biggest problem with Indian Railways is the latency. It is normal for trains to be late in our country, but due to this many times people’s important work is also missed. If the train is late, then a rule has also been made by the Railways regarding this, about which very few people are aware. Do you know that if the train is late then you can get full refund of your ticket? Let us know what is the railway rule regarding this?

Although a lot of efforts have been made by the Railways to stop the delay in trains, but nothing much has been achieved in this. The biggest problem is the passengers. They have to reach somewhere on time, but due to the delay of the train, they are unable to reach on time.

Railway rules say that if a train is late by three hours or more, then passengers can cancel the ticket and get their full money back, even if your ticket is waiting. Earlier, this right was available to passengers only on taking counter tickets, but now you can take advantage of this right even on online ticket booking.

If the train is late then you will have to file TDR to get the full refund by canceling the ticket. For this, you have to login to IRCTC website or mobile app and go to My Account and select My Transaction option. In this you will get the option of File TDR. All you have to do is file TDR, your money will be refunded.

Railway rules also say that if the train is canceled automatically, then there is no need to cancel the ticket and file TDR. Your ticket money will automatically be credited to your account. Travelers must be aware of this right of theirs.
