New Delhi: Now it will be very easy for railway passengers to book group tickets. Passengers can now book up to 100 tickets from their nearest station only. With this decision of the Railways, tickets can be easily booked for the wedding processions.

According to West Central Railway, now this facility has also been made available at all reservation centers. However, till now, for advance reservation of more than 20 people (group ticket), the applicant had to come to the divisional office and apply, which caused a lot of inconvenience to the distant people.
It is noteworthy that it was not possible to book group tickets through the website of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) or through IRCTC app.
Along with this, tickets cannot be booked for more than 6 people simultaneously. Therefore, if booking has to be done for group tickets i.e. more than 6 people, then it becomes difficult for passengers to get tickets together online.
Now group tickets for 100 passengers can be made
Generally, passengers use this facility of railways for going on a pilgrimage or wedding procession or passengers traveling through group booking facility office.
According to the new order of the railways, for the reservation of 15 to 30 passengers, the railways has given the right to allow the station manager, chief commercial inspector, including the chief reservation supervisor of the reservation center.
In this regard, the Station Director, Regional Manager and Assistant Commercial Manager will have the right for advance party reservation of 31 to 100 passengers.
Only if there is a group reservation of more than 100 passengers, the Divisional Commercial Manager of the division will have to come for the application. After decentralization of rights, applicants can now avail party booking facility by visiting their nearest rail reservation center or reservation ticket window.
Due to the decentralization of this facility of group reservation, now passengers of small stations will not need to go from the headquarters of the railway division.
