Train Ticket Transfer Rules: Traveling by train is considered the cheapest and safest means. Usually train tickets are not available on occasion, so they book it 2-3 months in advance. Many times it also happens that you have booked the ticket but on the last occasion your departure got canceled. In such a situation, the problem arises in front of you that now what should you do with the train ticket. Tickets can be transferred in the name of family
According to the rules of Indian Railways, if your departure is canceled on the last occasion, then you can transfer your ticket to another person. But this transfer can happen only between family members i.e. parents, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, wife. You cannot transfer your ticket to any other person. By doing so, that other person will be considered without ticket and heavy penalty may be imposed on him.
Follow these steps
Step-1: First take a print out of the ticket. If the ticket is made from the counter, then take it with you.
Step-2: After this go to your nearest Railway Reservation Center. These centers are made in every city.
Step-3: Carry the original Aadhaar or voter card in whose name you want to transfer the ticket. Along with this they should also have a photocopy.
Step-4: After this, you request for ticket transfer by applying at the counter. Do not forget to attach a photocopy of Aadhaar with the application.
Visit the nearest reservation center
If you go out somewhere is canceled on occasion and you want to send other family members to your confirmed seat (Train Ticket Transfer Rules), then you have to go to the nearest Railway Reservation Center 24 hours before the departure of the train and give the application. Along with this application, a photocopy of the Aadhar card of the person you want to send on the train to your place will also have to be attached. If you do not have Aadhar card of family member then you can also take Voter I card. After this, the ticket in your name will be canceled and the ticket in the name of the family member will be made.
