However, have you ever wondered what you will do if your ticket is lost or torn during this time? There is no need to panic, you can find a solution to this problem through the information given in this article.

What to do if you lose a ticket

If you are traveling in a train and your ticket is lost, then you do not need to panic. You have to inform the TTE of the train in this regard, after which the TTE will issue you a duplicate ticket. This ticket is the same as the original ticket. However, it is easy to differentiate this ticket from the original ticket. Through this ticket you can travel to your destination. Now we will know how much charge you will have to pay for the duplicate ticket?

Duplicate ticket will be charged

The point to note here is that if a duplicate ticket is issued to you by the TTE, then this ticket will not be free, but you will have to pay for it to the Indian Railways. However, a limited amount has been fixed for this by the Railways. In return, you will also be paid a fee slip by the Railways. Through this you can travel in the train.

How much will have to be paid

Now the question is how much can the TTE charge you for a duplicate ticket, so let us tell you that you do not need to pay much for this. If you are traveling by sleeper class or second class, then you will get a duplicate ticket for just Rs 50.

This ticket is accepted by the Railways in lieu of the original ticket. Through this ticket you can travel without any hassle. However, this fee is different for other categories.

What is the charge for other class

Now you will have this question in your mind that what is the charge for other class in railways, then let us tell you that different duplicate ticket amount has been fixed by Indian Railways for different categories. If you are traveling in any class other than sleeper and second class and your ticket gets lost, then you will have to pay Rs 100 for it, after which you will be issued a duplicate ticket by the TTE.

What to do if the ticket is torn

Many times during travel in Indian Railways, the original ticket gets torn due to some reason or it is spoiled by children or the ticket gets damaged due to some other reason. If you are traveling in a train and such an incident has happened to you, then you can get a duplicate ticket by paying 25 percent of your travel fare.

However, the thing to note here is that if you have a waiting ticket, then you do not have to get a duplicate ticket. You can inform the TTE of your train in this regard. Because, you do not get a seat in a waiting ticket. In such a situation, you can travel only in the coach of the train. At the same time, you can get a duplicate ticket only if the confirmed ticket is torn.
