Maximum stay allowed for 15 days

Indians who intend to stay in Iran for a long period of time or wish to visit Iran multiple times within a period of six months will have to obtain the necessary visas from Iranian missions in India for other types of visas. In December, Iran had decided to waive visa requirements for India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and 32 other countries.
Visa rules relaxed for Indian tourists
In the last few months, Iran has become the latest country to grant visa-free access to Indian tourists. Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka have also relaxed visa rules for Indian tourists. Early last year, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had announced that visitors from India and China would be given 30-day visa-free entry into Malaysia from December 1. He said visa waivers are still subject to security checks for records of crime or violence.
Similarly, Thailand announced that Indian tourists will be allowed visa-free entry into the country for a period of six months from November 10. The announcement was made following a decision by the Thai Cabinet, which agreed to exempt tourists from India and Taiwan from the requirement of entry visa for a stay of up to 30 days in Thailand, effective till May 10, 2024. Additionally, Sri Lanka has also allowed visa-free entry to visitors from seven countries, including India, China and Russia.
