IndiGo flights are going through a very bad phase these days. From flight diversion to flight cancellation, people’s anger has erupted against the airline. Recently, a video has gone viral on social media in which people are protesting against them at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
There was a huge uproar after a flight was canceled from Terminal -2 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi . People together raised slogans against IndiGo (IndiGo Protest) and shut down the airline! Stop! Raised slogans. In fact, as soon as the IndiGo flight to Deoghar was cancelled, the passengers became very angry. This is not the first such incident against Indigo. Recently it also had to face fine by DGCA for not following safety rules.
Indigo’s bad days
Just a few weeks ago, IndiGo and other airlines were stopped from flying by Indian aviation regulators , the Directorate General of Civil Aviation ( DGCA ) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security ( BCAS ) over security lapses . A fine of Rs 1.2 crore has also been imposed on IndiGo for not following safety measures . IndiGo was fined for feeding people on the runway.

Show cause notice against Indigo
A video of a man eating food while sitting on the runway due to flight delay went viral on social media. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) had issued immediate show cause notices to Indigo Airlines and Mumbai Airport. IndiGo received this notice after several passengers were seen coming out of its plane and eating food sitting on the road at Mumbai airport. His flight going from Goa to Delhi was diverted on January 14 and landed in Mumbai.
What was said in the notice to Indigo ?
The ministry said IndiGo was issued a notice for failure to follow proper aviation security procedures in respect of violation of Rule 51 of the Aircraft ( Security ) Rules 2023 , Aviation Security Order 02/2019 and order dated September 21 , 2021 . Flight no . 6E 2195 which landed at Mumbai airport at 11:21 pm on January 14 under diversion case . The notice said that IndiGo allowed passengers to land on the runway by flight 6E 2195 at Mumbai airport on January 15 and then board flight 6E 2091 from there without following the security screening procedure. Which is a violation of safety rules. The airline replied to the notice and said that action would be taken after investigation.
