IndiGo said it will extend a 25% discount to doctors and nurses on their journey with the airline as Covid-19 cases in the country reach record highs
New Delhi: India’s largest private air carrier IndiGo on Tuesday rolled out an exclusive discount for healthcare workers such as doctors and nurses at a time the country has emerged as the second-worst Covid-hit country in the world with over half-a-million cases.

“There are some superheroes who got our hearts melting like warm cookies! The ones who have been tougher than the current times – our doctors & nurses, the #ToughCookies. And, because they are plane awesome, we have a sweet lil gesture for them, a 25% discount on flying with us!” it said in a statement on Twitter.
It is to be noted that healthcare workers are are one of the worst-affected in the ongoing pandemic owing to high exposure to virus-infected patients. According to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) data, as many as 382 doctors have died during the coronavirus pandemic.
