Indigo direct flights between Hyderabad and Maldives were started from Sunday. The flights will initially operate between Hyderabad and Male thrice a week from 22 August (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). It will fly four times a week from 15 October (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).
According to GHIAL (GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited) officials, IndiGo has started this new route from Hyderabad. IndiGo flight 6E 8108 GMR departed from Hyderabad International Airport at 2.20 PM (IST) and arrived at Velana International Airport in Maldives at 4.30 PM (IST). Return flight 6E 8107 from Male will reach Hyderabad at 20.50 PM (IST).
SpiceJet will operate flights on seven new routes
SpiceJet this week announced seven new domestic routes, of which six currently have no competitors. There will be three new services in Bhavnagar in the state of Gujarat, while there will be new flights in Gwalior, Ajmer and Varanasi. SpiceJet is also starting Pune-Tirupati flights next week. Bhavnagar is the sixth major city in Gujarat where SpiceJet will start its flight service.
These routes come under the government’s UDAN-RCS (Regional Connectivity Scheme), which subsidizes airlines to fly to select destinations. SpiceJet had said that it is shifting its cargo and logistics services to its subsidiary SpiceExpress & Logistics Pvt Ltd. The logistics business is valued at Rs 2,555.77 crore as per an independent assessment conducted by it, the airline said in a statement.
