In view of this, the Gehlot government of Rajasthan has started the Indira Gandhi Credit Card scheme for the small traders and unemployed people of the state to resume their business. Under this scheme, the state government will provide a loan of Rs 50,000 without interest. Along with this, it will not be necessary to give any guarantee to any person to take the loan.
According to the news published in the media, the Rajasthan government will lend interest free loans up to Rs 50,000 without guarantee to more than 5 lakh small traders and unemployed people of the state in the next one year. This amount can be used in business. For this, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme on 16 August 2021.
Apart from this, circular has also been issued by the Finance Department of Rajasthan for the operation of this scheme. under this scheme Unemployed youth will be provided financial support. Apart from this, the ill-effects of informal trade due to lockdown will be reduced through this scheme.
What is Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme
The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan has implemented the Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme in the state to help retail traders and unemployed people overcome the financial crisis in this era of Corona crisis. Under this scheme, short term small loan will be made available which will be without guarantee and interest free loan.
This loan will be provided for a period of up to one year. Loans can be sanctioned under this scheme till March 31, 2022. The loan amount has to be repaid after 3 months. The loan repayment period will be 12 months. In this entire scheme, the process will be completed under the Department of Autonomous Government. The role of the District Collector will remain as the nodal officer.
Who can take loan under Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme
Under the Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme, street vendors in urban areas, people providing services in the informal sector, including hair dressers, rickshawwalas, potters, eaters, cobblers, masons, tailors, washermen, painters, taps, electricians, etc. People etc. will be the beneficiaries for this scheme.
Eligibility and conditions to take advantage of Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme
- The person applying for this scheme should be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
- Under this scheme, any person whose age is between 18 to 40 years can apply for this scheme.
- To get the benefit of this scheme, the monthly income of the application should be Rs 15000 or less.
- The monthly income of the applicant’s family should be Rs 50000 or less.
- In this scheme of the government, those small traders who have been given a certificate or identity card on behalf of the urban body, will be eligible for the scheme.Â
- Traders left out in the survey on behalf of the body or merchant vendors with recommendation letters from Town Vending Committee will also be eligible.Â
- Vendors who have been selected during the survey but have not issued a certificate or identity card will also be eligible.Â
- Under this scheme, such applicants will be eligible who are not getting unemployment allowance in urban areas and whose monthly income does not exceed 15 thousand rupees.Â
This scheme will be applicable for one year
The loan received under this scheme will be interest free. This scheme will be applicable for 1 year. You do not need to give any kind of guarantee to get the loan under this scheme. Applications can be made under this scheme till 31 March 2022. The period of the loan moratorium has been fixed at 3 months. The beneficiary will have to repay the loan within a period of 12 months.
This will be the process of providing loan under Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme
District Collector will be the nodal officer of Indira Gandhi Urban Credit Card Scheme in the district. The verification of the beneficiaries will be done by the sub-divisional officer. The expenditure under this scheme will be borne by the state government.
The loan amount can be withdrawn by the beneficiary through credit card or debit card in one or more installments till March 31, 2022. The loan amount will be repaid in 12 equal installments from the fourth to the 15th month. No pre-process fee will be recovered from the beneficiary for providing loan under this scheme.
Loans will be made available to about 5 lakh citizens on first come first serve basis. Under this scheme scheduled commercial banks, regional rural banks, small finance banks, The loan will be provided by co-operative bank and non-banking finance company. Beneficiaries will be identified at the district level on the basis of the certificate issued to the vendor by the local urban faculty.
Documents Required to Apply for Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme
A person applying for Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme will need some necessary documents in which the applicant’s Aadhar card, residence proof, income proof, identity card, age proof, mobile number, passport size photograph, etc. will have to be provided.
How to apply for Indira Gandhi Credit Card Scheme
Under this scheme, 5 lakh people coming under the limits of Municipality, Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation in urban areas will be provided the benefit of this scheme. The implementation of this scheme will be done through the Autonomous Government Department.
Apart from this, this scheme will be implemented by the Scheduled Caste Corporation for the beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes living in urban areas. This scheme will be applicable till 31 March 2022. Under this scheme, applications will be accepted only through web portal and Android app.
E-Mitra Kiosk can also be taken help of application by the beneficiary. Apart from this, a help desk will also be set up at the level of Local Bodies Department to guide the applicants and to redress the grievances.
