The poaching dispute between IT firms has intensified. Now Infosys has accused Cognizant of being involved in poaching activities . Earlier, Infosys’ rival company Wipro had also made similar allegations against Cognizant. Wipro has made such allegations in this case against two of its former executives, who have recently joined Cognizant.
Infosys-Cognizant clash
Sources familiar with the matter told Moneycontrol that several senior executives of Infosys had joined Cognizant, after which Infosys had made a written complaint to Cognizant in this regard. “The non-compete clause was not applicable, but this complaint may serve as a defense for Cognizant,” said a source.
Another source said that Infosys had sent this letter to Cognizant a few weeks ago. Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar took over this responsibility in January this year and since then he has recruited 20 executive vice presidents and four senior vice presidents in the company. Many of these have come from Wipro and Infosys. Wipro has now filed a case against two of its former executives Mohammad Haq and Jatin Dalal. Both of them had recently joined Cognizant.
Anurag Vardhan Sinha, Nageshwar Cherukapalli, Narasimha Rao Mannepalli and Shweta Arora are prominent among the Infosys employees hired by Cognizant. According to sources, two of these people have already joined Cognizant, while the remaining two were to join as Delivery Head and Consulting Head. However, after the letter from Infosys, the recruitment of these two can be postponed for a few years. Infosys and Cognizant did not respond to questions.
Weak business environment
The Cognizant controversy is being seen at a time when Infosys and Wipro are not only facing challenges on the business front, but resignations are also being seen at the senior management level. In the last 12 months, 7-8 senior employees have left Infosys, while 10 senior executives in Wipro have said goodbye to the company.
