Infosys latest update: Now these employees can work from home 11 days in a month, know details

Amidst the strictness of companies on Moonlighting, the veteran IT company Infosys has given relief news to its employees. The company’s CEO Salil Parekh has said that he respects the employees’ ambition to learn and do more and is also formulating a policy to allow them to work elsewhere.

New Delhi. There is relief news for the employees working in two or more companies simultaneously. IT companies, which are still looking tough on Moonlighting, are now seen in a mood to adopt a soft stance. IT sector giant Indian company Infosys has indicated that it may allow its employees to work elsewhere.

Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said during the announcement of the quarterly results, “We respect the ambition of employees to learn and do other things after work. The company is working on such a policy, which can give exemption to employees for doing small work of other companies. However, for this it will be necessary that the employees take permission from their manager in advance. We will ensure that the terms of the contract and confidentiality are fully respected while making the policy.

Company started the project, 4 thousand employees connected
Salil Parekh told that Infosys has also started a program called Accelerate in the midst of Moonlighting debate, in which more than 4 thousand employees have joined so far. Under this project, people can do other part time work in addition to the main work. If the employee is working separately with the prior permission of his manager, then the company will not face any problem, but confidentiality should be taken care of.

Can’t tolerate moonlighting at all
Parekh, on the one hand, talked about allowing the employees to work in another place with permission, but at the same time made it clear that there is no place for moonlighting in the company. He bluntly said, if the employees are working for two companies at the same time, then it is a matter of confidentiality and we have to ask them to leave. Infosys does not support double employment under any circumstances.

Many employees fired in a year
The CEO of the company said, our stand is very clear and in the last one year all the employees who have been found working in two places simultaneously, they have been fired from the company. Earlier, the HR department of the company had also clearly said in an e-mail sent to the employees that work like moonlighting would not be tolerated at all and any employees found involved in it would be fired immediately. Although Infosys did not give the number of employees fired due to moonlighting, another IT company Wipro has fired 300 of its employees in this case.
