Jamshedpur: Railway Board has announced Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) to increase the revenue. Under this, companies can advertise their brands on stations. Railway management is now going to start this scheme to collect revenue from non-fare sector. Under this new scheme, the licensees of the respective brand will get the right to have their own brand logo in the name of the railway station.

That is, they can advertise their brand on the platform board of the station, which is the first sight of the passengers. In this case the name of the station in your area will change. However, such a brand name should not exceed two words. While issuing a statement recently, Western Railway has said that this scheme is completely a form of advertisement. Its purpose is not to change the name of the railway station.

Advertisement will not be allowed in these

According to Zonal Railways, branding shall not be permitted on the railway display network in public reservation systems, railway tickets, route maps, websites, announcements through railway public address systems or to the respective licensee companies, among others. 1. Companies may prefix or suffix the name of the brand or logo with the name of the railway station.

2. Co-branding of railway station will be permitted at all places in the station building area where the name of the railway station is indicated as well as in the circulating area.

3. The scheme of ‘co-branding of railway stations’ is open to central government and state government institutions, public sector units (PSUs), as well as reputed private firms including banks or financial institutions excluding advertising agencies.

4. The contract for co-branding of Railway Stations will be awarded through the process of open online tender (ireps.gov.in) for a period of one to three years.

5. As per the Railway Management, may advertise his/her brand to the concerned licensees in the concerned area only. If they display in more places than the specified place, then they will have to pay an additional fee for it as per the prescribed standards.
