After Covid, now people have started traveling by railways. People are also planning for travel with family. People may face problems regarding booking such tickets. If you are planning to travel and want to book railway tickets on IRCTC, then let us know that Indian Railways is giving a special facility to the passengers.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has informed railway passengers that they are allowed to book up to 12 tickets in a month. But for that the passengers will need to do a special job. According to IRCTC, passengers can book 12 tickets in a month only if they link their IRCTC account with Aadhaar. You can book only 6 tickets without Aadhar link. But if you want to book 12 tickets in a month then you have to link Aadhaar.
With IRCTC Account
- First of all you have to go to http://www.irctc.co.in . Or you can also use IRCTC app.
- After that you have to login.
- Now you tab on MY ACCOUNT option and select the option of Link Your Aadhar.
- Here Aadhar KYC page will appear, Enter your name as per Aadhar card, Provide Aadhar number or Virtual ID, Select checkbox and Click on send OTP button.
- Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar registered mobile number and click on the OTP button for Verify Process.
- Now click on the Update button to complete the Aadhaar verification process.
- A pop-up window will appear with the message. After that close the window and login again to http://www.irctc.co.in .
- Aadhaar KYC status can be checked by selecting ‘Link Your Aadhaar Link’ under My Account tab on the top navigation of IRCTC e-ticketing website.
Aadhaar Verification Process
- First of all open http://www.irctc.co.in in your web browser .
- Now go to the Add/Modify Master List link in My Profile under My Account tab on the IRCTC homepage.
- After that submit by entering all the given details like name, date of birth, gender, birth preference, food preference, senior citizen concession (if applicable), ID card type and ID card number (Aadhaar number).
- The passenger will be added to the master list with the details provided and can be viewed in the updated passenger list.
- For Aadhaar Verification of Passengers, you have to click on “Click here to check pending Aadhaar Verification Status”. If the verification is done then you will get the success message.
You can book 12 tickets in a month like this
- After successful login on IRCTC website, enter travel details and proceed for booking.
- Now on the train list page, select the desired train/class and continue booking.
- Next on the passenger input page, click on the passenger name and select the Aadhaar verified passenger from the list displayed.
- Passenger details will be automatically generated on the reservation form.
- Only one of the traveling passengers should be Aadhaar verified and selected by clicking on PASSENGER NAME. Rest of the passengers details can be submitted through keyboard.
- Now continue with the booking process.
- After that you can book the ticket by paying.
