IRCTC Train Bedroll Supply The ban on giving blankets and pillows in trains during the Corona period was lifted by the Railway Board on 10 March. But preparations are still going on to start this facility in Delhi division.

Till now this facility has not started in any train of Delhi Division. Work is underway to make this facility available to the passengers traveling in AC coaches soon. However, no date is being given when this service will start. Blanket, sheet, pillow, towel are provided to the passengers in other long distance trains including Rajdhani. This service was stopped in March 2020 due to Corona infection. Passengers were demanding to start it.
Fee based service has been started last year for passengers in many divisions including Delhi. Passengers can buy blankets, sheets, etc. at major railway stations and in some trains for a fee. On March 10, the Railway Board had issued a letter to all the Zonal Railways instructing them to remove the ban on this service. In this, it was said to start this service in a phased manner. Most of the trains are not getting this facility even after a fortnight after the instructions were issued. Passengers are expressing their displeasure on the internet media regarding this.
At the same time, the Railway Board has clarified that the instructions are being implemented in a phased manner to ensure the quality of blankets, sheets etc. This service remained closed for two years, so the blankets, sheets etc. already available are no longer usable. New procurement process is going on. The railway administration is working so that passengers can get this service like before the Corona period.
Service will start in 55 trains of Delhi Division
Before the Corona period, in 55 trains of Delhi Division including Rajdhani and Humsafar, blankets, sheets etc. were given to the passengers of air-conditioned coaches. Those traveling in these trains are waiting for this service to start again. Officials say that adequate arrangements have been made for blankets, sheets etc. to start this service. Work is going on to restart the laundry for their proper distribution and cleaning in trains. This work will be completed in the next few days. After that the problems of the passengers will go away.
Curtains being put in trains
Curtains have been refurbished in air-conditioned coaches of Chennai Rajdhani and Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani, Dhauladhar Express and Sainik Express. In the coming days, this facility will be available in other trains also.
