Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) which is the official online portal for railway ticket bookings in India has warned users about a ‘fake’ website being run with its name.
The fake website www.irctctour.com is duping people by presenting itself as the official website. IRCTC has filed a complaint against this fake website selling tourism packages in its name and even has a copycat digital assistant “Disha”.
The website copies the design and features of the genuine portal making it difficult for the normal users to identify it as a fake one. An e-mail has been sent by IRCTC to its registered users warning them against the fake website.
IRCTC has also put a message on its portal about the fake website. IRCTC is the only entity authorized by the Indian Railways to provide online railway tickets, catering services to railways and packaged drinking water at railway stations and in trains.
