The Income Tax Department on Thursday said it has issued refunds worth over Rs 1.62 lakh crore to 1.79 crore taxpayers so far this fiscal. This includes 1.41 crore refunds for assessment year 2020-21, amounting to Rs 27,111.40 crore.
The Income Tax Department tweeted, “The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued refunds worth over Rs 1,62,448 crore to over 1.79 crore voters between April 1, 2021 and January 24, 2022.”
Because of this your refund has not come
If you have not received the refund money, then the main reason for this will be the mismatch of the account. Adjustment as per the department, your money will also be stuck due to defect. Let us tell you that under section 245, if your account does not match, then you will not get the money credited.
View Refund Status
If your refund is not received then you can check the status through the website of Income Tax Department. You can easily do this work by using your PAN and Login ID and Password.
Do this if refund is not received
In case the refund is not received, first log in to your income tax account on the Income Tax Department website. Then click on My Accounts and then Refund and then Demand Status. Next, enter the assessment year for which you want to know the refund. Doing so will reveal the information related to the refund. In this you will get the information about not sending the refund.
Enter Bank Account Number Carefully
Fill the bank account details carefully to get the refund amount directly in the account. Well nowadays bank account and your return are already linked. If you don’t already have a linked account, the first thing to do is to verify it. After this the option for e-verification will appear. Select the appropriate mode of e-verification. Generate and fill in the Electronic Verification Code (EVC)/Aadhaar OTP to submit the request. After submitting the refund re-issue request, a message will come which means that your application has been successfully accepted. Refund will be issued to you soon.
