The biggest question in today’s time is whether the due date for filing income tax return will be extended due to the problems being faced on the portal? According to a Business Standard report, the Central Board of Directors of Taxes (CBDT) is considering extending the due dates for filing returns.
September 30 is the deadline
Income tax return filing is one of the important activities of the financial year. The last date to file ITR for the financial year 2020-21 is 30 September 2021. Earlier the last date was 31st July but due to Corona the date has been extended.
Instructions to settle the problems coming on the website by August 15
Problems are coming only after the launch on the new website of Income Tax Department. Now Infosys, the company that made the website on behalf of the government, has been given time till September 15. The company has been asked by the ministry to rectify all the deficiencies by September 15.
Rs 164.5 crore spent
In the recently concluded monsoon session, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary, in his written reply in the Lok Sabha, said that between January 2019 and June 2021, Infosys has been given Rs 164.5 crore for the portal.
