The Income Tax Department gives the facility to the income tax payers to file income tax returns both online and offline. It is mandatory to e-verify the ITR filed online. You can do this work with the help of Aadhaar.
New Delhi. People whose income is taxable, they have to file income tax return every year. In the ITR form, people have to give information about their income, expenses, investments and tax liability to the government. After the beginning of the new financial year, the income tax return of the previous financial year has to be filed.
The Income Tax Department gives the facility to the income tax payers to file income tax returns both online and offline. But, after filing ITR through online mode, it is mandatory to do ITR E-Verification. Unless the ITR filer does its e-verification, then that ITR is considered incomplete and that ITR becomes invalid.
Do e-verification with Aadhaar
Income tax return can also be e-verified with Aadhaar. UIDAI has given information about this by tweeting from its official Twitter handle. Giving information about e-verification of ITR, UIDAI has told that you can easily complete the ITR e-verification process through Aadhaar. For this it is mandatory to link your Aadhar with PAN card. Also, your mobile number should also be linked with the Aadhar card.
This is the way
- First of all visit the Income Tax Department website https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal.
- Here open the Link Aadhaar option.
- Enter the Aadhaar number in it and verify the PAN number.
- By doing this, the information of PAN and Aadhaar will be verified.
- Now fill the ITR form by visiting the ITR Filing Website.
- Here select the verification option.
- Now OTP will come on the mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- After entering the OTP at the designated place, click on Submit.
- You will see on the screen written Return successfully e-Verified.
- Your e-verification process is completed.
