ITR Filing: The season for filing income tax return has started. Taxpayers are filing returns in the financial year 2023-24 and assessment year 2024-25.
Taxpayers can file income tax return till 31 July 2024 without penalty. After this, people with annual income of Rs 5 lakh will have to pay a penalty of Rs 1,000 and people with income of more than Rs 5 lakh will have to pay Rs 5,000.
After filing income tax return, there is one more work which is very important. Verification of ITR is very important. This work should be done within 30 days.
If you do not complete the e-verification after filing the return, then the ITR filing is not considered complete and it is rejected after 30 days.
You can verify the return by generating EVC through net banking for the process of e-verification.
