ITR Filing Deadline: The last date for filing income tax return is getting closer. The deadline for filing income tax return is 31st July 2024. That is, now taxpayers have only 17-18 days left to file income tax return.
However, as the deadline for filing returns is approaching, taxpayers are facing problems on the filing portal of the Income Tax Department. Taxpayers are telling about their problems on social media and are demanding the Income Tax Department to extend the deadline for filing returns.
The filing portal is opening slow
A taxpayer updated on the social media platform X – The income tax portal is working very slowly in filing ITR. In such a situation, it will take a year to file ITR. The portal is very slow and there are many problems.

Income Tax Department’s reply
Taking cognizance of the user’s problem, the Income Tax Department replied and advised to clear the browser cache. The department replied – Try again after clearing the browser cache. If problems are still being faced after that, please share your details (PAN and mobile number). Our team will contact you.
Hundreds of users are complaining
Actually, hundreds of users on X are talking about the portal being slow and having glitches in it. Some users are writing that they have been trying continuously for the last 3-4 days and every time they are facing problems. Many times it is happening that the session expires while filing the return. Taxpayers have to log in several times to file the same return. Almost all users are getting the same advice from Income Tax Return to clear the browser cache.
Do not expect the deadline to be extended
If we look at the records of the last few years, there is little hope that the deadline for filing income tax returns will be extended. In such a situation, taxpayers are advised not to wait for the deadline to be extended. As the deadline comes closer, the problems on the portal will increase. In such a situation, it is better that taxpayers complete the process of filing their returns as soon as possible. After crossing the deadline of July 31, unnecessary fines may have to be paid.
