New Delhi: Crores of income tax payers are waiting for refund after filing their income tax returns. However, refunds have been issued to many income tax payers by the Income Tax Department. But there are still many taxpayers whose refund is yet to be issued. If the refund of your income tax return has not come yet, then you can check the status of your refund in a very easy way.
Complete way to check refund status
- To check the status of your income tax refund, first you have to visit www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in . After this, you have to login there by filling the details of PAN card details, password and captcha code.
- In the second step, you have to click on Review Return Forms. Then select ‘Income Tax Returns’ from the drop down menu. Here you have to select the assessment year for which you want to check the IT refund status.
- In the third step, you have to click on your acknowledgment number i.e. hyperlink. Now a pop-up will appear on the screen, which will show the timeline of filing of return. For example when was your ITR filed and verified, date of completion of processing, date of refund issue etc. Apart from this, it will also show the assessment year, status, reason for failure and mode of payment.
How to check refund status from NSDL website
- To check refund status from NSDL website, you have to first visit https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html . Then you have to fill your PAN details.
- In the second step, you have to select the assessment year for which you want to check the refund status and fill the captcha code and click on submit, now a message will appear on the screen based on the status of your refund.
