In the last days, more than 1.87 crores have been transferred to their bank accounts. Of this, Rs 59,949 crore was refunded for personal income tax and Rs 1,07,099 crore for corporate tax. How to get refund
After the processing of the return, if the tax department feels that your claim is correct, then its information will be sent to you through SMS and email. In this message, the department will tell how much amount will be refunded in your account. Along with this, he will also send a refund sequence number. This information is sent under section 143 (1) (Income tax notice) of the Income Tax Act.
Taxpayers Check Refund
State Bank of India (SBI) processes the refund. The refund is credited directly to the taxpayer’s account or a check or demand draft is sent to his address. Therefore, it should be ensured that the bank details are given correctly while filing ITR. The refund amount comes in this account. However, sometimes there may be a slight delay in sending the refund from the tax department.

Follow the steps to check tax refund status on e-filing website
1. First of all go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website.
2. Log-in to your account by entering details like PAN, Password and Captcha code.
3. Click on ‘Review Returns/Forms’.
4. Select ‘Income Tax Returns’ from the drop down menu. Select the assessment year for which you want to check income tax refund status.
5. Click on your acknowledgment number i.e. hyperlink.
6. A pop-up will appear on your screen showing the timeline for filing of returns. Like when your ITR was filed and verified, date of completion of processing, date of refund issue etc.
7. Apart from this, it will also show assessment year, status, reason for failure and mode of payment.
