Income Tax Return Filing: To complete the process of return, it is necessary to verify it after filing ITR. If the ITR is not verified within the stipulated time frame, then it is considered invalid. The verification has to be done within 120 days of filing the tax return. The easiest way to verify this is by ITR e-verification.
Both registered and non-registered users on the e-filing site can use this service. The special thing is that there are other options for checking tax returns, one of which is offline. At the same time, apart from Aadhaar based OTP, you can also verify ITR in other ways.
Form Verification of ITR-V
You can also get it verified from your ITR-V form. For this, you have to sign your ITR-V form with blue pen and send it by speed post service to the address of CPC, Post Box No-1, Electronic City Post Office, Bangalore – 560100, Karnataka, India. As soon as your copy will reach there, a notification will come on your mobile number and email and your ITR will be verified.
Verify can be done through net banking
Select your bank on the e-Verify page of the e-filing portal. After this you will be redirected to the net banking page of the bank. After login, select the option of e-verification to complete the process.
For this, you have to choose the option to file ITR by generating EVC through net banking. After that, after selecting your bank, login to it and click on the Tax tab, after which you will again be redirected to the Income Tax website. There, in the My Account tab, select the option of Generate EVC.
After this, a 10-digit alpha numeric code will be sent to your mobile and email, which will be valid for 72 hours. From here go to the E-Varify option under the My Account tab in the Income Tax Department website and verify your ITR with the help of your mobile number by selecting the option I have EVC already.
Through bank account by generating EVC
For this, first you have to go to the profile setting of your e-filing account and pre-validate your bank account there. Prevalidate only when PAN and your name match with the bank account. Once validated, you can generate EVC and then verify your ITR with the help of OTP received on mobile number.
Bank ATM is also option
Seven banks offer e-verification using ATM cards. These are Kotak Mahindra Bank, Central Bank of India, Canara Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, IDBI Bank and Axis Bank. If you have an account with any of these banks, then you can use this facility. For this, it is also necessary to link the bank account PAN number.
You can generate EVC using your ATM card. For this, go to your bank’s ATM and swipe your ATM card. After entering your ATM PIN, select the option to Generate EVC to file the return. EVC will be sent to your registered email and mobile number.
