On Sunday night, a release from the Law Department of the Odisha government said that keeping in mind the request made by devotees Gajapati Maharaj, the state government will present its case during the hearing in the Supreme Court. The Law Department has stated that 3 people applied to the court for not completing the Rath Yatra on June 23 in the writ petition number 571/2020. On June 23, the applicants have requested the court to carry out the rath yatra by complying with the personal recrimination rule. It has requested permission to pull the chariot through servants and police.

The state government has kept Corona in control till now, taking strict steps. The gathering of devotees in the religious journey will be like putting life in the face of disaster. However, the President of the Shrimandir Steering Committee and Gajapati Maharaj Divya Singhdev on Saturday wrote a letter to the state government saying that the state government should take steps without allowing devotees to perform the rath yatra this year. Along with this, it has also requested to take all kinds of steps to protect physical repression in the form of vigilance for Corona epidemic. Many people have filed similar petitions in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, the Government of Odisha will present its side in the Supreme Court today.
