The Jalan-Kalrock consortium is currently the promoter of Jet Airways. Earlier this airline was owned by Naresh Goyal and he operated its last flight on April 17, 2019. Now it is expected that this airline will be able to start commercial flight soon.
The airline had last Thursday conducted its test flight from Hyderabad airport towards obtaining the Air Operator Certificate. The test flight was conducted to prove to aviation regulator DGCA that the aircraft and its components were operating normally. Now the airline will have to operate one more flight, after which the DGCA will provide the Air Operator Certificate.
Let us tell you that flying Doctorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officers and airline officers and cabin crew members as passengers is tantamount to commercial flying. In a letter sent by the Civil Aviation Ministry to the airline on May 6, it was informed about the security clearance given by the Union Home Ministry.
