India’s largest telecom company Reliance Jio is working on a new product. According to the report, the company can bring a cheap laptop, which will be named JioBook. According to a report by XDAdevelopers, the Windows 10 operating system may replace this laptop to work on Google’s Android OS. Jio can name this operating system as JioOS.
In early 2018, Miguel Nuns, Senior Director of Product Management, Qualcomm Technology, told ET that Reliance Jio is considering bringing laptops with this American chipmaker that will come with cellular connectivity. However, now three years later, it seems that Jio is finally preparing a laptop based on Qualcomm hardware, although there may be slight changes in the software.

, the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 (Snapdragon 665) processor is being used in Jio’s laptop. It is an 11nm chipset, which was introduced in the year 2019. This chipset comes with a built-in 4G LTE modem, through which cellular connectivity will be available in the Geobook laptop.
According to the XDA developers report, Jio has partnered with Bluebank Communication Technology, a China-based engineering company, to develop this laptop. This company designs mobile devices and software for third-parties. According to the documents, the work to build the JioBook began in September 2020, and will last until the first half of 2021.
According to the report, a display with a resolution of 1366×768 will be found in it. The laptop will have mini HDMI connector, WiFi, Bluetooth, three-axis accelerometer, and Qualcomm audio chip. It also has Jio Apps like JioStore, JioMeet, JioPages. Apart from this, there are apps like Teams, Edge and Office from Microsoft which will be pre-installed.
