Jio users now have the convenience of getting instant high-speed data on loans and making payments later. The service, launched as Emergency Data Loan, offers prepaid customers five data loan packs of 1GB (each), making a total of 5GB. Customers will be able to pay this data later. The new service will help users who have exhausted their existing data quota and are not able to purchase data top-up for their account.

Users will have to install the MyJio app on their phone to get an emergency data loan on their Jio connection. The steps on how you can get the loan are given below.
- Open the MyJio app and go to the hamburger (three-lined) menu from the top-left corner of the screen.
- Select Emergency Data Loan in the Mobile section.
- Proceed by tapping on the Emergency Data Loan banner.
- Select the Get emergency data option.
- Finally tap on Activate now.
Now the Emergency Data Loan pack will be activated on your connection. You will also be able to pay for the data loan used from the Emergency Data Loan page available on the MyJio app.
Jio has not yet given any clarity about when exactly people will have to pay the loan.
