Part Time Job Fraud: The Central Government has again taken action to control the increasing cyber crime in the country. The Home Ministry has banned hundreds of websites doing part time job fraud.
Part Time Job Fraud: After the Corona period, people started searching more for work from home and part time jobs. This trend was noticed by the fraudsters and they had started cheating people for some time by luring them with part-time jobs at home. News of such cyber crimes were coming from all over the country. Such fake companies used to trap you by luring you with good money in exchange for work. Falling into their trap, many people’s bank accounts became empty in the recent past. Now the government has taken strict action against these fake websites. The Union Home Ministry has banned more than 100 such websites involved in fraud.
These websites were being run from outside the country
According to the information, these websites were being run from outside the country. Illegal investments were also being made through them. They used to trap people through chat messengers and digital advertisements. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) of the National Cyber Crime Threat Analysis Unit (NCTAU) had identified these websites last week. The Center had sent a recommendation to close them. According to the information, these websites were duping users by wrongly offering them jobs and investments. These websites were blocked by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Used to withdraw money from crypto currency, ATM and fintech companies
It was told in the report that people sitting abroad were taking the help of digital advertisements, chat messengers and rented accounts to trap people through these websites. These people used to withdraw the fraudulent amount through crypto currency, ATM withdrawals abroad and international fintech companies. The Home Ministry had formed I4C to deal with such activities.
22 illegal betting apps and websites were banned in November
Earlier in November, 22 illegal betting apps and websites were banned, which included Mahadev Book, due to which there was an uproar in the politics of the country and even Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was questioned. After this, ED (Enforcement Directorate) also conducted raids at many places.
